The Ligurian coastal environment is a complex ecosystem, as it’s located in a thin strip of land, in both its emerged and submerged part, where delicate habitats are found. Due to these peculiarities Liguria has been for years the leading recepient in Italy for Blue Flags, symbol of crystal-clear water, environmental policies and available services.
The Blue Flag is the international acknowledgement, created by FFE, Foundation for Environmental Education, certifying that coastal locations are working toward the respect of the environment and for the sustainable management of the territory.
