The Municipal School of Ceramics was founded in the second half of the 1970s by a group of artists and artisans who intended to provide opportunities for those who wanted to join the job market. The first location was in the Sanctuary of Peace complex, then relocated to the new school complex in La Massa. It would not change locations again, with only an internal move in the late 1990s, from the first to the second floor.
Among the most prestigious and successful initiatives is the stoneware course organized in 1997, with a significant path in the research field. Many leading artists worked in the School: among them Carlè, Caminati, Luzzati, Gioventù, Leverone, Nespolo, Lorenzini and Milena Milani. Today the Municipal School of Ceramics organizes educational workshops for schools of all levels and cooperates with high schools, academies and universities.
