A salute to pupils “Back to school, Mickey Mouse!” is the work created by Tuscan artist Ozmo, among the main representants of Italian Street Art, on the facade of the school complex in Albisola: the first stage of the long path to enhance and spread urban art, started in Albisola in 2021. A project that embraces and develops the languages of contermporary art and recalls that Albisola has been a privileged meeting point for tradition and avant-garde, a key destination for great artists of the 20th century.

In his mural, Ozmo revisites a typical apothecary vase from Ligurian tradition, the “stagnone”, painting it in monumental size on the facade of the building. While the characteristic white-and-blue that has made Albisola famous worldwide is faithfully maintained, the original composition gives way to a scene evoking the tension toward knowledge, in both its solemn and playful aspect. The addition of works and elements that create a short-circuit and an ambivalent interpretation, in fact, has always been a trait of Ozmo’s own research and production.

The Urban Art project continues in Ellera, where in the central piazza dell’Elce, in the summer of 2022, artist Mario Leuci, known as 750ML, created the large mural “the Ceramist”, paying homage to Giovanni Poggi: one of the most prominent figures in Albisola’s art history, master potter and founder of San Giorgio manufactory, deeply rooted in Ellera’s area. The street art work compliments the town’s historic, architectural and urban fabric and is a love letter from the citizens of Ellera to ceramic art and a testament to the uniqueness of this magic village.
In 2023, the work "Urban Pyramid" was created for the Majolica Festival, to promote the urban redevelopment of a concrete structure on the Montale Promenade. Commissioned from artists Erics One and 750ML, the work consists of two separate, but at the same time thematically and conceptually in mutual dialogue, entitled "Ceramic Sea" (by Erics One) and "Liquid Sky" (by 750 ML).

The figurative installation created by Erics One for the exterior of the structure represents a fine manifestation of Urban Art, which blends with the environment in which it is placed. In stylistic terms, it is a particularly refined example of Street Cubism, born from an artistic reflection that embraces elements derived from Cubism, Futurism, the aesthetics of Pop Art, Graffiti Art, as well as cartoons, according to the innovative and contemporary approach typical of Urban Art. The color scheme of "Ceramic Sea" consists of a delicate combination of white, blue and light blue, colors typical of Albisola’s traditional ceramics.

The interior of the structure, made by 750ML, depicts some humpback whales swimming in a crystal-clear sea, a key element of the natural setting of Albisola. The humpback whale, a symbol of purity and motherhood, also conveys the concept of freedom, swimming in boundless crystal-clear waters that join the sky and offer a deeply evocative scenery. The depiction, observable only from the lower visual angle, has the sky as its backdrop and elicits an immersive feeling in the broadest meaning.
The work of 750 ML and Erics One, with its colors and suggestions, thus focuses on the theme of the sea, meant not only as a bridge between distant cultural horizons, but also as a bearer of culture, a generator of life and beauty. The two artistic creations, which moreover share the same color scheme, are thus complementary in their symbolic reading and forms.
