The itinerary allows visitors to discover the small statues of Our Lady of Mercy, who appeared in the San Bernardo Valley to Antonio Botta in 1536.

It was, in fact, tradition to represent the effigy of Our Lady in niches, pillars, tabernacles and aedicules overlooking streets and squares and above doorways, to protect the community. The “Lions Club Alba Docilia” for ten years straight, from 1998 to 2007, chose to place in some empty niches of the area, devotional ceramic statues created by famous artists, chosen to rekindle the spirit of the tradition in a contemporary way. Respectfully to the proposed theme, the artists offered their personal interpretation and a trail of considerable artistic value was created, embracing the two Albisola and conjugating art, tradition and urban decoration
The first route starts at 180 corso Ferrari where visitors can admire the efficy created by artist Aurelio Caminati, pairing the figurative style of molding with a post-pop pictorial decoration. Opposite, at 171, the doorway hosts the depiction in a traditional interpretation by artist Sandro Soravia.

Walking down via San Pietro where visitors find, near the Balbi kindergarden, the Small Our Lady by artist Tony Salem, placed there to protect the children, and then the work of artist Giampaolo Parini. Carrying on through via San Sebastiano you reach via Vittorio Veneto where at number 9 is located, between stone walls, the work of Domenico Poloniato.

The second route starts from via della Rovere, where at number 64 is located the effigy of Our Lady by Franco Bratta. Walking along the same street it’s easy to reach piazza della Libertà where near house number 23 is placed the work of artist-designer Marco Silombria. Going past the public park visitors climb up via San Nicolò and near number 4, surrounded by a snow-white stucco frame is found the work of Dino Gambetta. Carrying on past the church, visitors go through via Emilia, where the work of Roberto Bertagnin can be admired, and a little further, on the left at house number 3, a small niche hosts the work of Lele Luzzati, an artist of international prestige: illustrator, scenographer and creator of important animated movies.

In Luceto, along via Saettone amidst the countryside, its colours and scent, stands a votive pillar depicting the image of the Madonna, the work of artist Alfredo Sosabravo, painter, draftsman, engraver, and ceramicist who now ranks among the greatest contemporary Cuban artists.
